Dissertazione sull' origine del giuoco del ponte di Pisa.

Pisa, Gio. Domenico Carotti, 1785. ____ *-------* The giuoco del ponte, the game of the bridge, was a violent game, fought with clubs and shields, in which initially faced single fighters, to then end with a battle between the two Factions of Pisa, aimed at conquering a large space bounded by chains. It has always represented the resumption of arms by the indomitable Cittadini Pisani, against the hated Florentines. Later with the creation of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany the "Medici" invented a dispute that was placed on the Ponte di Mezzo and the clubs and shields was replaced by the Targone, a wooden board, the city divided into two parts separated by the Arno. This "game" is still play today every year. Very rare. No copy in OCLC, only a reprint of 2008. It must have been printed in very few copies. "N°8" was written in red on the title page. Thus, it could be the eighth copy printed or given by the author. ______ Format : In-4. Collation : 15 pp. Reliure : Broché, couverture décorée de l'époque. Item #16674
