He began his formal education at Paris in 1871. Originally planning on a law career, he changed his course in 1878 after having been influenced by Charcot's work in psychology and neurology at the Salpêtrière. Binet then pursued studies in the natural sciences and received a Doctor of Science degree from the Sorbonne. By the early 1890s he was associated with the Psychophysiological Laboratory at the Sorbonne and was its director from 1894 until his death in 1911." - -. Item #16763
